According to statements made by Federal Minister Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, CPEC Phase-II will take Pakistan-China cooperation to new heights. In his trip to Tianjin he inspected the Huan Sheng New Energy Solar Plant and opened up new areas of commercial collaboration between the two nations.

Underlining possible industries, Ahsan Iqbal added that the following stage of CPEC development opens opportunities in port infrastructure, renewable energy and livestock improvement. According to him, the Huan Sheng Solar Plant was a complete automation, state of the art project under the fourth industrial revolution and Pakistan was intending to use the same.

Biotechnology cooperation in agriculture was also highlighted by the minister, and he developed forums to exploit China technology and expertise to increase productivity. He urged the Chinese investors to take advantage of the emerging market in solar and green energy projects in Pakistan.

In his visit to an animal vaccine manufacturer, Ahsan Iqbal proposed that the company set up a plant in Pakistan and pointed out livestock as one of the pillars of the agricultural economy in Pakistan. With a disease-free animal, he observed, meat export potential will be enhanced greatly.

At the end of his visit, the minister repeated that CPEC Phase-II will spell out large-scale investments in energy, agriculture, and technology making Pakistan the ideal place to conduct business with China.
