Pakistani freelancers and IT experts now have a bigger opportunity to live and work in Europe, as the Croatia Digital Nomad Visa has been extended to 18 months. This makes Croatia an attractive choice for remote employees from Pakistan looking for a longer stay abroad.
Longer Stay for Pakistanis
The updated visa rules allow non-EU citizens, including Pakistanis, to stay in Croatia for up to 18 months. Earlier, the programme only offered shorter durations.
To qualify, applicants must show a steady monthly income of at least €3,295 (about Rs 1.09 million) or proof of savings. For a 12-month visa, savings of €39,540 (around Rs 13.1 million) are required, while an 18-month stay needs €59,310 (around Rs 19.7 million).
Family Benefits
The scheme also allows family members to join. Pakistani applicants can bring spouses, children, and even unmarried partners, provided they have lived together for at least three years or share children. This makes it a strong option for families looking for legal residence in Europe.
Lower Application Costs
Applying online is the cheapest route for Pakistanis, with fees at €87.59 (around Rs 29,100). Applying through embassies costs more at €189.88 (around Rs 63,000). Applicants must provide a valid passport, health insurance covering Croatia, proof of remote work for a foreign employer, a criminal record certificate, and proof of accommodation in Croatia.

Work Restrictions
Visa holders are not allowed to work for Croatian companies. Pakistani professionals can only work remotely for clients abroad or for businesses registered outside Croatia.
Why It Matters
Pakistan’s freelance and IT industry is among the fastest growing worldwide. The Croatia Digital Nomad Visa gives these workers the chance to legally live in Europe, gain exposure, expand networks, and secure family settlement opportunities.
After an initial stay, applicants can re-apply following a six-month gap, creating a path for longer-term living and working in Croatia.
