ANF foils smuggling of 13kg crystal meth hidden in medical books from Lahore courier office, parcel bound for Australia, suspect traced to Peshawar.
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled an attempt to smuggle 13 kilograms of crystal meth (ice) cleverly concealed within the pages of medical books. The illegal consignment was intercepted at a courier office located on Mall Road and was destined for Australia.
Officials discovered the drugs during a routine inspection of outgoing international parcels. Upon scanning a suspicious package containing several medical textbooks, further investigation revealed that the pages had been chemically treated to absorb and conceal the narcotics. Advanced testing equipment confirmed the presence of crystal meth in the book pages.

The parcel was traced to an individual from Peshawar, who had booked the shipment for international delivery. The package has been sent to a laboratory for detailed analysis and drug separation, while authorities have launched a manhunt to arrest the suspect behind the smuggling attempt.
Officials have expressed concern over the growing trend of using courier services for drug trafficking. They emphasized the need for stricter screening procedures and greater collaboration with courier companies to prevent such innovative and dangerous smuggling tactics in the future.
