Islamabad, Dec 9: Australia defeated India by 10 wickets on day three of the second Test in Adelaide to level the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series at 1-1.
Despite a resilient 42 from Nitish Kumar Reddy, India were dismissed for 175 after resuming on 128-5.
Pat Cummins took 5-57, supported by Scott Boland (3-51) and Mitchell Starc (2-60), leaving Australia a target of just 19 runs.
Openers Nathan McSweeney and Usman Khawaja easily chased down the target in 3.2 overs.
The third Test will be held in Brisbane on December 14.
With this defeat, India must win all three remaining Tests to secure a spot in the World Test Championship final.
Australia needs four victories from their next five Tests but is likely to require fewer wins.
