Islamabad, 14 June 2025: Darwin Núñez appears to be at a crossroads at Liverpool, with indications emerging that the Uruguayan forward may no longer be central to the club’s future under new strategic plans.
Despite speculation surrounding his possible exit this summer, the striker has reportedly ruled out a move to Saudi Arabia one of the few leagues capable of matching both his valuation and salary expectations.
According to a report in The Mirror, Darwin Núñez remains reluctant to entertain offers from Saudi clubs, despite their financial incentives.

This decision has complicated Liverpool’s offloading strategy, particularly as the club seeks to rebalance its roster and finances ahead of a pivotal transfer window.
The Reds are actively revamping their squad, having already secured Germany international Florian Wirtz in a high-profile €140 million move.
The Merseyside club is also eyeing further reinforcements, including Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola though PSG is reportedly demanding a hefty transfer fee.
In this evolving scenario, Darwin Núñez’s unwillingness to relocate to the Gulf region has disrupted Liverpool’s planning. The club had hoped to generate significant funds from his sale to help finance their summer acquisitions.

While there has been no official comment from Anfield, insiders suggest that the club’s sporting department is exploring alternate transfer solutions, given the importance of balancing outgoings with their ambitious recruitment goals.
