After going unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction Warner was picked by Karachi Kings for a record-breaking Rs 2.58 crore—the most expensive signing in PSL history.

Ahead of the game, Warner addressed media in Karachi and responded to a claim that some Indian fans mocked him for joining the PSL after missing the IPL.

The left-handed opening batter dismissed the suggestion, saying it was the first he had heard of such trolling on social media handles.
Warner stated that his decision to play in the PSL was purely based on his passion for cricket and the opportunity to take part in a tournament.
He added that conflicting international schedules in the past had prevented him from participating, but now that he had retired, the timing was finally right.
Warner entered the PSL 10 draft earlier this year and was the top pick in the Platinum category during the draft held at the historic Hazoori Bagh in Lahore.
