Islamabad, May 22, 2025: The number of students martyred in the brutal Khuzdar school bus attack has risen to six, following the tragic death of another injured student who had been battling for her life in a hospital in Quetta.

The latest victim, Sahar Saleem, an eighth-grade student who was critically injured in the blast, died despite medical efforts, bringing the total death toll in the cowardly attack to six.

Previously, three young girls; Sania Soomro (12), Hifza Kausar (12), and Aisha Saleem (16) along with one other victim, were confirmed among the dead after the Khuzdar school bus attack which shocked the country.

According to hospital officials, 36 injured individuals were brought to various hospitals in Quetta for treatment, with five remain in critical condition.

Security agencies have described the bombing as a calculated and cowardly strike coordinated by proxies operating in Balochistan on behalf of foreign handlers. Sources claim the attack was planned outside Pakistan, reportedly linked to Indian-backed networks looking to exploit instability in the region.

Authorities have registered a case at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police station in Khuzdar, including charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act, murder, and attempted murder. An investigation is actively underway to trace those behind the incident.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack and named the India-sponsored terrorist group “Fitnat-ul-Hind” as the force behind it. Alongside Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, the Prime Minister visited injured children and the families of the deceased at Quetta’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH), expressing solidarity and resolve to combat terrorism.
