Islamabad, 7 May, 2025: Pakistan’s Defense Minister has confirmed that five Indian fighter jets were shot down during recent air combat, intensifying military tensions between the two nations.

Speaking in an interview , the minister acknowledged the success of Pakistan’s air defense but refrained from revealing specific details about the types of aircraft involved.

This confirmation followed an earlier report by ARY News, which had stated that Pakistan downed three Indian jets, including Rafales, MiG-29, and Su-30.

The Defense Minister corrected the report, asserting that five jets were actually brought down.

Official sources indicated that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) intercepted and downed two Indian aircraft overnight.

One of the jets crashed in Bhattanda, while the other went down in the Akhnoor region.

A third Indian jet, identified as a Rafale, was reportedly shot down southwest of Awantipora, 17 nautical miles from the border.
