Islamabad, Oct 8: Delegation from Hutchison Ports Company Meets with Qaiser Sheikh.The Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, met with a high-level delegation from Hutchison Ports Company to discuss potential expansion of their activities at the South Asian Port Terminal under Karachi Port Trust (KPT).
According to a press statement issued here on Tuesday, important authorities, including Secretary Maritime Affairs Syed Zafar Ali Shah and Additional Secretary Umar Zafar Sheikh, attended the meeting. The minister greeted the Hutchison delegation and assured them of the Ministry’s steadfast support for their commercial endeavors during the talks.
He reassured the delegates of the government’s commitment to supporting the expansion of the maritime industry and underlined the need of efficient terminal operations. Minister Sheikh declared, “The Ministry is committed to working with Hutchison Ports to improve the effectiveness and capabilities of the South Asian Port Terminal.”
“We are prepared to help in any manner we can to ensure an increase in business activity in the port, as we acknowledge the critical role that Hutchison plays in the region.” The meeting focused on current initiatives between KPT and Hutchison Ports management, emphasizing strategic advancements that are advantageous to all parties involved.
