Islamabad, Oct 23: Delegation in Peshawar Briefed on Key Educational Reforms
At a recent trip in Peshawar, a senior mission has discussed the existing as well as the planned changes to educational process to enhance the Academia in the Province.
These reforms are intended to solve some of the major problems the area has experienced which include a problem of limited access to educational facilities, outdated curriculum and inadequate professional teachers.
The delegation heard in Peshawar was most memorable on measures that were adopted in an effort to close the parity of rural and urban schools to make sure children who come from different background enjoy the best quality education.
Some of the drastic changes that were mentioned during the briefing included change of focus in teaching and coming up with innovations in faculty development.
During this study in the Peshawar delegation got to know that the provincial government has started a series of workshops and training sessions for the teacher professional development.
They are as a result meant to train educators with the current teaching approaches that encourages the use of critical thinking skills, problem solving skills and use of technology in teaching.
The mentioned educational reforms address both the need for enhancement of teacher qualification and the upgrade of school facilities in the whole province.
The schools in Peshawar were informed of the development of structures of new schools and modification of the existing structures in order to provide conducive environment to the learners.
They include provision of trendy classrooms, libraries and computer facilities which are relevant in delivery of good education.
On the health aspects other important necessities like clean and safe water to drink and proper sanitation facilities for the student’s health have also been given proper importance by the government.
The materials discussed during the briefing also covered the changes in the educational system of the USA, the revision of the curriculum of schools.
Members in Peshawar house were told that the provincial education department is at work to ensure that curriculum is brought on par with the international level.
This includes the addition of new subjects in curriculum, integration of information communication technology skills for the 21st century learner.
The goal is to develop a curriculum that educates as well as nurtures young minds to fit competing global economy job market.
The delegation in Peshawar lauded the incumbent government for its endeavors in the direction that concern children regardless their economic status by providing free education to them. Another accomplishment mentioned was the establishment of regular scholarship program for talented needy students to be educated underance cost.
For that reason, one can conclude that changes in educational systems of KP are valuable for the development of the standards of quality in school throughout the province as well as for the students equipping with the tools for efficient learning.
The delegation in Peshawar averred that it believed these reforms will create sustainable effect in the province’s education system and become role model for other part of Pakistan.
