Following the closure of Utility Stores, the government has announced a compensation package for employees, offering payments ranging from a minimum of Rs. 2.5 million to a maximum of Rs. 15.5 million per person for regular staff.
According to official documents, 230 regular employees who are within two years of retirement will receive Rs. 1.552 million each.
For those who have completed over 20 years of service, Rs. 2.21 billion has been allocated, with each such employee entitled to Rs. 3.443 million. Regular employees with less than 20 years of service will receive Rs. 2.436 million each.

For contract employees, those with less than two years left in service will be paid Rs. 414,000 each.
Contract employees with over 16 years of service will receive Rs. 1.127 million, while those with less than 16 years of service will get Rs. 947,000 per person.
