A meeting was held at the Diamer Bhasha Dam Project Office in Chilas, chaired by the General Manager and Project Director of the Diamer Bhasha Dam. The meeting brought together religious scholars and community elders from Diamer to discuss various ongoing matters.
The participants reviewed progress on different social and economic development initiatives under the 2025 agreement.
Topics discussed included the regularization of temporary employees, implementation of confidence-building measures (CBMs), improvement of Chilas’ water supply and sewerage system, and the provision of local development facilities.
The General Manager and Project Director reaffirmed WAPDA’s commitment to bringing a new era of welfare and prosperity to the region through public cooperation. He also announced that the Safe City Project from Raikot to Shatial will be formally launched soon, which will create new opportunities for employment, development, and community services.
Additionally, progress was reported on projects to provide basic educational facilities in schools across Chilas and to install a modern X-ray machine at the Chilas Hospital.

The religious scholars of Diamer appreciated the ongoing efforts for the region’s social and economic uplift and assured their continued support for the success of these initiatives.
The meeting was attended by Director General Social Safeguards Major (Retd.) Tariq, Director Coordination Rahim Shah, and a delegation of religious scholars and elders led by Maulana Hazratullah.
