Islamabad, July 15, 2025: Pakistan’s latest internet sensation, Sajid Nawaz, has reportedly been arrested after his viral video criticized Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz over Lahore’s waterlogging crisis during the ongoing monsoon season.

The video, which quickly gained traction online, showed Nawaz openly blaming the Punjab government for poor drainage systems and flooding chaos in Lahore. His emotional rant sparked widespread public support—but also led to serious consequences.

Shortly after the video surfaced, unconfirmed reports suggested that Sajid Nawaz, who was allegedly employed in the sales department at Qarshi Industries, was terminated from his job. Though the company has not issued an official statement, multiple insiders claim that his dismissal followed soon after the controversy broke out.

The public backlash intensified, with #BoycottQarshi becoming a top trend across social media. Many users condemned the alleged action against Nawaz, calling it a threat to freedom of expression and raising questions about the cost of criticizing public officials in Pakistan.
