Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmad, said that efforts are being made to promote the digital economy, and a Digital Wallet has been launched to facilitate overseas Pakistanis.

Through this digital wallet, funds can be transferred safely and securely.

Speaking at the launch ceremony of the Stanford University Program, he stated that the digital wallet is being introduced for Pakistanis living in Gulf countries, enabling them to send their money to Pakistan legally and securely.

This initiative will help eliminate illegal channels of money transfer. Through the digital wallet, up to one million dollars can be sent through legal means.

He added that overseas Pakistanis in Gulf countries often face difficulties in opening bank accounts. The government has finalized an agreement with UBL, the Ministry of Finance, and other partners to resolve this issue.

Under this project, overseas Pakistanis will be provided with a digital wallet that will allow them to directly transfer their funds to Pakistan, bringing in around one billion dollars per month through legal channels. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that the launch of the digital wallet is a major milestone for Pakistan.
