Islamabad, Oct 27: Diplomatic Business Club Commemorates International Day of Diplomats, Celebrating Global Unity and Peace-Building. The 8th Annual International Day of Diplomats was celebrated in the nation’s capital by the Diplomatic Business Club, which brought together diplomats from all around the world to recognize their commitment to promoting international cooperation and togetherness.

The event’s subject, “Diplomats Defuse Crises and Shape Peace,” emphasized the critical role that diplomacy plays in preserving global peace. Foreign diplomats were greeted with bouquets by Secretary General Ali Vazir and Chairman Muhammad Umar Shah of the Diplomatic Business Club. Numerous international dignitaries graced the occasion, including Dr. István GRAFJÓDI, Dy Head of Mission, Hungary; Mohamed Thoha, High Commissioner of the Maldives;

Along with diplomats from France, Kyrgyz Republic, Iran, honorary consuls from Morocco and Tunisia, and representatives from the UN World Food Program, the delegation included Nasser Al Sulaimani, the deputy ambassador of Oman; Abdulraheem Hasan, the deputy head of mission, Jordan; and Soita Khwatenge, the minister counselor for Kenya.

The Diplomatic Business Club commemorates the International Day of Diplomats and promotes world peace and togetherness. Fahd Haroon, the Chief Guest and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and Minister of State, explained that in the age of digital media and technology, the function of diplomacy is changing. “Digital media platforms provide new channels for communication and interaction, enabling us to reach larger audiences and promote better understanding between various groups,” he said.

He stated his willingness to assist the academic and corporate communities by giving them access to data that is essential for research and development. Haroon added that he hoped the Diplomatic Business Club, led by Muhammad Umar Shah, would keep putting on significant events in Islamabad to promote Pakistan’s economic development.

Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, the honored guest, gave a moving speech about how diplomats influence global affairs. He emphasized how Pakistan’s effective diplomatic initiatives helped free the countries of North Africa from colonial domination.

Senator Syed also highlighted Pakistan’s strategic alliances with allies in the region, such as Oman, which helped to indirectly pave the way for the establishment of CPEC by selling Gwadar to Pakistan in 1958.

Vice President of FPCCI Tariq Khan Jadoon gave the keynote address and commended the Diplomatic commercial Club for its commitment to advancing Pakistan’s economic development and prosperity via commercial and diplomatic endeavors.

Afshan Malik, advisor to the president of FPCCI, welcomed the diplomats and made sure they had a pleasant and rewarding stay in Pakistan.In his opening remarks, Ali Vazir emphasized the importance of the International Day of Diplomats, which the Diplomatic Business Club in Pakistan has observed for the third year in a row.

He also discussed the achievements of the Diplomatic Business Club, which include overseeing more than 300 events and planning 22. In early 2025, he said, the Club would be holding Single Country B2B Exhibitions in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Hungary, Romania, and Poland.

Ishtiaq Baig, Honorary Consul General of Morocco and Patron of the Diplomatic Business Club, gave the vote of gratitude. He conveyed his sincere gratitude to the distinguished guests, including Nasir M. Qureshi (President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce), Senator Mushahid Hussain, and Chief Guest Fahd Haroon. Baig also emphasized the prosperity of commercial relations between Pakistan and Morocco, which reached $800 million in within the previous 12 months.

To show gratitude for their devoted service, mementos were given to all of the foreign diplomats stationed in Islamabad as the event came to a close. An enjoyable supper that included both Pakistani and continental fare provided the ideal environment for friendship and cross-cultural interaction.
