Islamabad, Oct 29: Dr. Khalid Maqbool, Pakistan and Czech Republic Maintain Strong Diplomatic Relations.Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the Federal Minister for Science and Technology, stated on Monday that Pakistan and the Czech Republic have had a long history of diplomatic relations.
Speaking as a distinguished guest at the Czech Republic’s National Day celebration, the federal minister congratulated the Czech government and its people on behalf of the Pakistani government and people.
In his speech, Dr. Siddiqui emphasized Pakistan’s long-standing diplomatic relations with the Czech Republic, which were established in 1950, and conveyed a message of friendliness and goodwill from the country’s prime minister.
“Pakistan looks forward to strengthening ties in all sectors and values its relationship with the Czech Republic both bilaterally and within the framework of the European Union,” he said. Dr. Siddiqui emphasized important partnerships, pointing to Czech contributions to Pakistan’s electrical infrastructure, such as turbines at the Mangla Dam and the Czech enterprises’ creation of Independent Power Plants (IPPs) in Balloki (Orient Power) and Muridke (Sapphire Electric).
He added that both nations work closely together at the UN and have similar positions on a range of regional and global problems. According to him, Friendship Groups have been formed in the parliaments of Pakistan and the Czech Republic, demonstrating their strong parliamentary collaboration.
“Bilateral trade has been steadily increasing in recent years,” Dr. Siddiqui remarked, referring to the expanding trade links between the two nations. “We are thrilled to have signed an economic cooperation agreement in 2023 and are working to enhance bilateral trade,” he stated.
Dr. Siddiqui highlighted that the Czech Republic has considerable potential for growing trade and investment relations due to its proficiency in heavy machinery, precision engineering, and coal and mining.
In addition, he thanked the Czech government for helping Pakistani citizens and promoting interpersonal ties, and he acknowledged the Pakistani population living in the country.Additionally, he noted that more Pakistani students are choosing Czech colleges for their further studies, which is a positive sign.
