Islamabad, July 1, 2025: Mild earthquake tremors jolted Lahore and nearby cities across Punjab on Tuesday morning, causing brief panic but no reported injuries or damage.
Residents in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, and Kasur felt the tremors around dawn. Many rushed out of homes and offices as precautionary measures, while social media filled with posts describing shaking fans and vibrating furniture.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), seismic activity was confirmed, although details regarding the earthquake’s magnitude and epicentre are still under assessment.
Emergency services were placed on alert, but no casualties or structural damage have been reported so far.
Pakistan sits on a major tectonic fault line, making it vulnerable to frequent tremors. In May 2025, moderate quakes were recorded in northern regions, and earlier this year, minor tremors hit parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Authorities have advised citizens to stay calm and follow earthquake safety guidelines in case of aftershocks. The PMD will provide an official update once final seismic data is compiled.
