Islamabad, Sep 11: The Economic Coordination Committee met today under the direction of Muhammad Aurangzeb, the federal minister of finance and revenue.The Pakistan Central Cotton Committee (PCCC) requested a loan of Rs. 656 million from the Ministry of National Food Security and Research so that the organization could pay salaries and pensions to its workers.
The ECC approved the Ministry of Communications and the National Highway Authority to move forward with the procurement of civil works in accordance with Public Procurement Rule-5 after reviewing a summary from the Ministry of Communications regarding the “Kalkatak-Chitral 48 km (Section-III) Road Project (N-45) – Procurement of Civil Works.”
The Ministry of National Food Security and Research (NFSR) submitted a proposal to the ECC for the availability of money in the amount of Rs. 238.42 million to settle arrears of wheat subsidy schemes 2015-16.
Finally, the ECC took into consideration a summary of a modification to the gas supply priority list provided by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division). Because it would fall under the highest priority category, this action would make it easier for the industry to use gas in its operations.
