On the directions of the Prime Minister and in line with the agenda of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to impart latest skills to youth and increase employment opportunities for them, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has been establishing state of the art IT Laboratories in 16 Federal Government Degree Colleges located in different areas of Islamabad. The students will be offered offer six-month courses in Block chain, data science, AI & game development courses in these newly established technology Laboratories in these institutions. In first phase around 1000 students will be offered courses which are in demand in the market and offer high employment opportunities. These courses have been designed by NAVTTC and will be implemented in collaboration with renowned universities like NUST, National Skills University, COMSATS and NUML. There has been an overwhelming response from students of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and nearby areas for admission and more than 3600 students have applied for these course. These courses will start during second week of May, 2024.
For the first time in Pakistan’s history, the Federal Government has embarked on an ambitious program that will digitally train and certify the 1.8 million teachers that are currently in our workforce, and the millions that will join in the next decade to shape Pakistan’s future. NIETE (National Institute of Excellence in Teacher Education) will work with LUMS School of Education to develop this certification, bringing world class teaching practices and support to Pakistan’s public & private schooling ssytem. Our goal is twofold:
- Teachers become professionally trained and supported. We want teaching to be the most attractive, noble, and prestigious profession for young people in Pakistan.
- Students get the best quality of education in schools and at home, leveraging the power of technology to achieve exponential increase in learning outcomes by making education fun, seamless and enjoyable.
This program will be avaiable to teachers and students of all provinces inshallah.
