Preparations for Baba Guru Nanak’s 556th birth anniversary have been completed in Nankana Sahib, where authorities have finalized arrangements for the upcoming celebrations

According to the district administration, from November 4 to 6, all 24 government schools and private institutes across Nankana Sahib will remain closed. In addition, Baba Guru Nanak University will suspend academic activities from November 3 to 6 as part of the city’s arrangements for the celebrations.

The district management has also decided to keep colleges closed to ensure smooth progress on various development and beautification projects being carried out around the city. Chief Executive Education Shazia Bano and the university administration have issued formal notifications for the closure of institutions.

Officials said the city has been decorated with lights and banners, while maintenance and development work around the Gurdwara Janam Asthan and adjoining areas is in the final stages.
