Islamabad, 22 May, 2025: Eid Cattle Markets across Punjab have witnessed a major financial milestone as digital auctions held on Wednesday drew nearly 950 bids, generating an impressive Rs. 6.59 billion in revenue. This marked a significant shift towards modernizing livestock trade ahead of Eid ul Azha.
Organized under a transparent e-bidding system, the event was managed by the Punjab Cattle Market Management and Development Company (PCMMDC), operating under the Local Government and Community Development Department.
The initiative is part of the province’s broader strategy to streamline and digitize the livestock auctioning process.
Eid Cattle Markets in Multan emerged as the top performers, contributing Rs. 2.63 billion from 10 markets. Lahore followed with Rs. 2.03 billion, while Faisalabad’s 13 markets generated Rs. 1.91 billion.

The highest single offer was recorded at the Model Cattle Market in Jungle Jaswant Garh, Multan, which reached Rs. 1.57 billion.
Lahore’s Shahpur Kanjran Model Cattle Market followed closely with a Rs. 1.5 billion bid, and Faisalabad’s Jhang Model Cattle Market secured Rs. 1.16 billion. These high-value bids underline the growing confidence in digital auctions among contractors and livestock dealers.
Other notable bids included Sheikhupura’s Model Market at Rs. 486.78 million, Luddan’s market at Rs. 710 million, and Niamoana Model Market at Rs. 140.7 million.
Even smaller venues such as Chund Bharwana, Tandlianwala, Gaggoo, and Machiwal attracted solid bids between Rs. 14 million and Rs. 50 million, reflecting widespread engagement across urban and rural areas.

Eid Cattle Markets also saw heightened interest from contractors, with Faisalabad leading in participation by drawing 457 bids across its markets. Lahore followed with 253, and Multan attracted 240, showcasing the growing role of private entities in the livestock sector.
The success of these auctions highlights Punjab’s progress toward digitized governance and more efficient livestock management as Eid approaches.
