Islamabad, Sep 17: Authorities have issued a detailed traffic management plan for Islamabad and Rawalpindi ahead of the 12th Rabi ul Awal processions on 17th September 2024 (Eid Milad-un-Nabi).
As multiple roads in both cities are expected to be closed for the processions, residents are urged to use alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience.
Rawalpindi Traffic Plan:
The procession will start from Jamia Masjid Hanfia and follow this route:
- Jamia Masjid road – Banni Chowk – Circular Road – Murree Road – Committee Chowk – Iqbal Road – Liaqat Market – Fawara Chowk – Raja Bazaar – Dingi Khui – Banswala Chowk – Jamia Masjid Road.
Road Closures in Rawalpindi:
Complete road blockades:
- Fawara Chowk, Liaqat Road, Iqbal Road, Raja Bazaar, Gunj Mandi, Kashmiri Bazaar, and other connecting routes.
- Murree Road from Marir Chowk to Chandni Chowk will be entirely closed.
Diversions for Travelers:
From Islamabad to Rawalpindi:
- Those caught between Kohati Bazaar and Committee Chowk should take the Rawal Road, Airport Road, or Tipu Road.
From Rawalpindi to Islamabad:
- Traffic will be diverted from Marir Chowk to Airport Road via Rawal Road.
- Murree Road traffic from Islamabad:
- Will be rerouted through Aghaz Flyover and Chandni Chowk towards Rawal Road.
