Islamabad, Feb 16: Billionaire Elon Musk has confirmed that his AI company, xAI, will unveil its latest AI chatbot, Grok 3, with a live demo at 8 p.m. Pacific Time on Monday (0400 GMT Tuesday). The release of Grok 3, designed to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, marks a major step in xAI’s development of advanced artificial intelligence models.
Grok 3: A Game-Changer in AI
Earlier this week, Musk stated that Grok 3 was in its final development phase and would be available within the next two weeks. Speaking at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Musk emphasized the chatbot’s capabilities, stating:
“Grok 3 has exceptionally strong reasoning abilities. In our testing, it has outperformed any AI model currently available. That’s a promising sign.”
As the founder of xAI, Musk aims to challenge AI giants such as Microsoft-backed OpenAI and Google’s DeepMind. Notably, Musk was also a co-founder of OpenAI before parting ways due to differences in the company’s direction.

Musk’s Multi-Billion Dollar Bid for OpenAI
In a dramatic move, a consortium led by Musk has made a $97.4 billion offer to acquire OpenAI’s assets, further intensifying the rivalry between the two AI powerhouses. OpenAI, originally a nonprofit, has transitioned towards a for-profit model to attract investment for AI development.
Musk has opposed this shift and has even filed a lawsuit against OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, seeking to prevent the company from fully abandoning its nonprofit mission. Responding to Musk’s bid, OpenAI argued that his legal challenge contradicts his acquisition attempt.
“OpenAI has managed to develop groundbreaking AI while maintaining a dual nonprofit-for-profit model. Eliminating the nonprofit aspect entirely seems excessive,” Musk remarked.
Economic Vision & Government Efficiency
Beyond AI, Musk also discussed economic policies, proposing a $1 trillion reduction in U.S. government spending. He suggested that the economy could grow at 4-5%, while cutting government expenditures by 3-4% of GDP, ensuring zero inflation from 2025 to 2026.
As the former head of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency, Musk has long advocated for reducing federal bureaucracy and optimizing government operations.
Dubai Loop: A Revolutionary Transport System
During the event, UAE AI Minister Omar Al Olama announced a partnership with Musk on the Dubai Loop, an underground high-speed transport system. Musk compared the project to a wormhole, though specific details were not disclosed.
Musk on U.S. Foreign Policy & Middle East Tensions
Musk also weighed in on international relations, advising that the U.S. should focus on its own affairs rather than interfering globally. Addressing a Middle Eastern audience, he remarked:
“The U.S. has been overly pushy in the past. It’s time to respect other nations’ sovereignty.”
His comments come in the wake of controversial remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who suggested turning Gaza into the ‘Riviera of the Middle East’—a statement that has sparked widespread criticism across the Arab world.
With the launch of Grok 3, a multi-billion-dollar bid for OpenAI, and bold political statements, Elon Musk continues to make headlines across technology, economics, and international affairs. As xAI competes to shape the future of AI innovation, the world eagerly awaits the live demo of Grok 3.
