Islamabad, Jan 26: Engro Fertilizers has inaugurated a new Markaz Centre in Muridke as part of its efforts to ensure the availability of high-quality fertilizers at official prices. This brings the company’s total number of Markaz Centres to four, with existing locations in Bahawalpur, Sargodha, and Sahiwal. These centers are designed to benefit farmers by curbing hoarding and price manipulation, while also supporting the Government’s agricultural initiatives.
The launch event was attended by Federal Minister for Industries & Production and National Food Security & Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, who served as the chief guest. Senior officials from the Ministry of National Food Security & Research, provincial administrators, and representatives from the farming community also participated in the ceremony.

Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasized the Government’s commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s agriculture sector and improving farmers’ livelihoods. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Government and the fertilizer industry in ensuring the uninterrupted availability of fertilizers at controlled prices. He commended Engro Fertilizers for its role in establishing Markaz Centres, which aim to provide farmers with affordable and timely access to fertilizers while eliminating exploitative practices by intermediaries.
Ali Rathore, CEO of Engro Fertilizers, also addressed the gathering, underscoring the company’s dedication to supporting Pakistan’s agricultural growth. He stated that these Markaz Centres would not only ensure the availability of high-quality fertilizers at official rates but also serve as platforms for educating farmers about innovative products and advanced agricultural technologies. Rathore highlighted the potential for these initiatives to improve crop yields and align them with global benchmarks.
In addition, Rathore introduced the company’s recent launch of the UgAi app, Pakistan’s first integrated agricultural e-commerce platform. The app enables farmers to purchase fertilizers directly at official prices while providing advanced tools such as drone technology and satellite imagery. These features help farmers monitor crops with precision, reduce input costs, and achieve higher yields.
