The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued a latest advisory according to which the Chenab River will experience very high levels to exceptional floods in the coming 48 hours. The rainfall of heavy to extremely heavy intensity observed by the radar of the Pakistan Meteorological Department in Sialkot shows that the higher catchments of the Chenab and related streams of the Ravi are on the verge of overflow.

There is a warning that major barrages such as the Marala, Khanki and Qadirabad could experience severe flooding in September 3rd to 4th, 2025.
