Islamabad, May 30, 2025: Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea is expected to finalize a pre-contract agreement this summer to sign Strasbourg striker Emanuel Emegha for the year 2026.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Chelsea once again set for another busy summer and could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players.

The London club is actively seeking support in three key areas: a centre-forward, a central defender, and a right-sided attacking option, as they aim to strengthen the squad under incoming manager Enzo Maresca.

Securing a striker remains Chelsea’s top objective. The Blues have successfully fended off interest from Premier League rivals Manchester United, Newcastle, and Everton in the race to sign Liam Delap. A full agreement with the 22-year-old has been reached, pending only a medical and the final signing of the contract.

With Delap’s transfer close to completion, Chelsea may still pursue an additional striker. Emanuel Emegha, who made 14 goals in 27 league outings for Strasbourg this season, is now emerging as a serious target.

Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his YouTube platform, has now shared his opinion on the matter.

“My expectation is for Chelsea to pre-sign Emegha from Strasbourg this summer for 2026,” he said. “So close the deal now and let the player join in 2026. Chelsea already planning for 2026.”

The 22-year-old forward, who signed for Strasbourg last summer from Austrian outfit Sturm Graz in a €13 million transfer, has impressed under the management of Liam Rosenior and may be on the move again sooner than expected.

Even as Chelsea edge closer to confirming Delap’s arrival, they continue to monitor other potential options up front and are reportedly considering adding a second striker to the mix.
