A news is circulating online that Punjab government has raised monthly fees for schools across the province.
However, the news isn’t true. There has been no increase in school fees in the province. The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) actually provides monthly financial assistance to partner schools under their New School Program (NSP).

The assistance is provided to partner schools for their students who receive education under the Education Voucher Scheme. The partner schools do not charge these students any fee.
The increase announced by PEF is an increase in partners’ monthly subsidy, which will be paid starting from September 2025. There will no increase in fee being charged to students.
With the increase in subsidy amount, PEF has instructed the partner schools to increase salaries of teachers and improve standard of schools.
