Islamabad, 16 April 2025: Faheem Ashraf has expressed a strong desire to maintain his form in PSL 10 while also hoping to replicate his performances for the national side.

Ahead of the third match of Quetta Gladiators, the star all-rounder said his move from Islamabad had not changed his mindset.

He said his primary focus was still to contribute to his team’s success and help them reach the final stages of the tournament.

The 31-year-old emphasized that while excelling in the PSL was rewarding, his greater ambition was to carry the same level of performance into international matches for Pakistan.

Faheem also highlighted the PSL’s impact on local cricketers, calling it the country’s most prestigious sporting brand.

He noted that the league had improved players’ financial stability and raised their profiles on the international stage.

Although he observed a slight dip in excitement this season, he believed that senior players were playing a vital role in restoring the league’s energy and appeal.

Commenting on the shifting dynamics of T20 cricket, Faheem acknowledged the increasing pressure on bowlers.

He admitted that he now finds more enjoyment in batting, particularly with the growing trend of high-scoring matches.

According to him, explosive cricket isn’t exclusive to the Indian Premier League (IPL); Pakistani players, too, possess the firepower to deliver big scores.

He added that every team in the PSL was highly competitive and that the tournament’s true intensity tends to emerge as it progresses.

Quetta Gladiators began their campaign with an emphatic win over Peshawar Zalmi, successfully defending a total of 217.

However, their momentum was halted in the next match by Lahore Qalandars, who posted 220 runs before bowling out Quetta for 140.

The Gladiators are scheduled to face Karachi Kings in their next match at the National Bank Stadium on April 18.
