Islamabad, Jan 14: Faisal Movers, one of Pakistan’s leading transport services, has faced a 30-day suspension imposed by the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) of the Motorway North Zone, following a tragic incident on December 30, 2024, that claimed 11 lives and injured 14 others.
This devastating accident on the CPEC M-14 Motorway has sparked an investigation that revealed several safety violations and operational lapses by the company.

The accident, which occurred while a Faisal Movers Suspends bus was traveling from Bahawalpur to Islamabad, was attributed to driver fatigue, ultimately leading to the vehicle overturning.
However, the NHMP’s investigation exposed a series of alarming breaches, prompting the suspension order.
The bus, authorized to travel from Kot Mithan (Rajanpur) to Rawalpindi, operated illegally on the CPEC M-14 Motorway, a route not in its approved schedule.
Furthermore, the bus’s GPS tracker was inaccessible to NHMP officials, hindering real-time monitoring of its speed and route.
Reviewing the bus’s tracker data post-accident, NHMP found the vehicle was speeding at 112 km/h, which is significantly higher than the permissible speed limit on the motorway.
The driver had been on the road for more than five hours without any relief, further contributing to fatigue and the eventual tragedy.

In response, Faisal Movers initially claimed that a tire burst was the cause of the accident. However, the evidence of multiple violations, including speeding and a lack of proper monitoring, invalidated this explanation. As a result, the NHMP enforced the suspension, effective from December 31, 2024, to January 29, 2025, barring the company from operating within the Motorway North Zone.
NHMP stated that Faisal Movers can resume operations once it follows the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) issued in August 2021. These strict regulations aim to ensure passenger safety and reduce the risk of future accidents.
