Islamabad, Feb 26 2025: Experienced Pakistani cricketer, Fakhar Zaman, has put an end to rumors about his alleged retirement from the 50-over cricket.
As per the media report, Fakhar has made it clear that he is eager to rejoin the national team once he has fully recovered from his injury.
The speculation surrounding his future in international cricket intensified after his injury, which ruled him out of the ongoing Champions Trophy.
earlier this week, a renowned sport journalist reported that the 36-year-old cricketer was contemplating his future in the 50-over format.
However, the left-handed opening batter wasted no time in putting those rumors to rest, reaffirming his commitment to the game of cricket.
It is worth noting that the left-handed batter suffered an injury in the very first over of the curtain-raiser of the marquee event against New Zealand.
Fakhar has represented Pakistan in 86 ODIs, scoring 3,651 runs at an average of 46.21 and a strike rate of 93.85, including 11 hundreds and 17 half-centuries.
The Mardan-born cricketer is considered one of the key players for the Men in Green in white-ball cricket due to his consistency in scoring runs and explosive batting.
