Islamabad, 15 April 2025: Fakhar Zaman gave Lahore an early scare after taking an elbow blow in the opening over against Karachi in the ongoing PSL 10th edition.
The left-handed batter, known for his aggressive style, has faced a string of injuries in recent months, raising concerns over his long-term fitness.
The incident occurred in the first over bowled by Adam Milne. With Mohammad Naeem on strike, Milne delivered a full-length ball that was firmly driven back.
The shot struck Zaman’s right elbow at the non-striker’s end, leaving the hard-hitting batter in visible pain and requiring on-field treatment.

After receiving treatment, Fakhar resumed his innings, although he was nearly dismissed just one ball later when James Vince dropped a catch in the deep.
Initially appearing unsettled by the knock, the Qalandars opener gradually regained his rhythm.
Despite the early loss of two wickets, Fakhar found his timing again and began to play with confidence, finding the boundary with some fluent strokes.
Partnering with Daryl Mitchell, he looked eager to take control of the innings and put pressure back on the Karachi bowlers.

Zaman’s injury history has been a growing concern for both franchise and national selectors.
Having missed the Champions Trophy due to fitness issues, Lahore Qalandars will hope his latest elbow injury doesn’t cause further setbacks during the crucial PSL.
As the match progressed, attention shifted from Fakhar’s fitness scare to his form, as fans and teammates alike looked to him to anchor the innings.
However, questions remain about how well his elbow will hold up post-match.
For the two-times champions, keeping Fakhar Zaman fit may prove just as important as winning matches in their ongoing franchise cricket.
