Islamabad, Jan 20: The Directorate of Immigration and Passports has significantly enhanced its service delivery with the recent announcement of expanding the fast-track passport service to 26 new cities, increasing the total to 47 cities across Pakistan. This strategic expansion includes not only major urban areas but also smaller cities, ensuring a wider reach and greater convenience for the populace.
The fast-track service, previously limited to cities like Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta, is now available in Attock, Chakwal, and Sargodha.
This initiative aims to alleviate the need for long-distance travel previously required for passport services, bringing these essential services closer to the community.

The inclusion of cities such as Hafizabad, Mianwali, and Bhakkar represents a thoughtful approach to urban and rural balance in service provision. Additionally, regions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa like Kohat, Swabi, Swat, and DI Khan now enjoy enhanced service capabilities, along with key areas in Azad Jammu and Kashmir including Muzaffarabad and Mirpur.
The enabling residents in these newly included cities to avail themselves of expedited services, the government facilitates quicker processing times, which is particularly advantageous for those in urgent need of travel documentation.
The fast-track service guarantees quick passport issuance, benefiting professionals and students who need to travel abroad on short notice. Citizens will gain faster access to global travel, boosting local economic and social dynamics without long bureaucratic delays.
The Directorate encourages all potential passport applicants to reach out to their nearest passport office to gather more information about the fast-track service. By doing so, they can better understand the requirements and take full advantage of the reduced processing times. This move by the Directorate of Immigration and Passports is a commendable step toward improving governmental service efficiency and public satisfaction in passport issuance.
