Islamabad, Feb 28: Fatima Fertilizer, in collaboration with the Agriculture Department Punjab, organized the Sarsabz Kissan Convention in Sahiwal, bringing together key stakeholders to support farmers in enhancing maize and cotton productivity. The event was graced by Punjab Agriculture Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani as the chief guest and saw participation from around 1,500 farmers, alongside senior government officials and agricultural experts.
The convention emphasized the balanced use of fertilizers and the adoption of modern farming techniques to boost crop yield and ensure sustainable production growth. Farmers were educated on Fatima Fertilizer’s specialized products, Sarsabz Nitrophos and Sarsabz CAN, which play a vital role in improving soil fertility and increasing per-acre productivity. Given cotton’s significance to Pakistan’s textile industry and maize’s importance to food security and livestock feed, the event underscored the urgent need for advanced agricultural solutions.
Key dignitaries in attendance included Punjab Agriculture Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, DG Agriculture Punjab Ch. A. Hameed, DG Agriculture Information Naveed Asmat Kahloon, Commissioner Sahiwal Division Shoaib Iqbal Syed, and Consultant for Agriculture Dr. Anjum Ali Buttar. Also present were Pakistan Kissan Ittehad President Khalid Khokhar, MPAs Ch. M. Javed and Imran Akram, and other senior officials.
Speaking at the event, Rabel Sadozai, Director Marketing & Sales, Fatima Fertilizer, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainable agricultural development, stating that early cotton production is crucial for strengthening Pakistan’s economy, particularly the textile sector, while enhanced maize production supports food security and livestock growth. She also highlighted Fatima Fertilizer’s alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to drive sustainable farming solutions for a greener future.
Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani appreciated Fatima Fertilizer’s efforts in educating farmers through such initiatives and acknowledged the Punjab Government’s continued support for agricultural advancement. He also announced the government’s plan to introduce a rental machinery services scheme to assist farmers in boosting productivity.
The Sarsabz Kissan Convention reaffirmed Fatima Fertilizer’s role in strengthening Pakistan’s agriculture sector by offering high-value fertilizers, field advisory services, and sustainable farming solutions, ultimately contributing to national economic growth and food security.
