Islamabad 10 August: A strategic MoU was signed between Sonarem (via its subsidiary Somiphos) and Pakistan’s Fatima Fertilizers, part of the diversified Fatima Group.
The agreement focuses on the commercialization, beneficiation, and local processing of phosphate from Algeria’s Bir El Ater mine—home to over 850 million tonnes in reserves—aiming to develop value-added fertilizer products and bolster mining-fertilizer value chains.
The MoU also opens avenues for joint industrial projects, technical knowledge exchange, and markets in Algeria, Pakistan, and beyond.
