Islamabad, July 14, 2025: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has now made it compulsory for all income tax return filers for the year 2025 to mention the actual market price of any land or buildings they buy, sell, or already own in tax filings, starting from July 1, 2025.
According to a sample return form shared through SRO 1213(I)/2025 dated July 7, 2025, a new section has been included that asks taxpayers to type in the real market price and other property details by hand, even if the system has already filled in the data from earlier records.
People filing returns must confirm that they have listed all their properties and written their correct market prices. They also need to make sure that details of earlier declared properties are written again by hand.

FBR has also cautioned that if any property details are missing, the return may be considered invalid. This new rule applies to all return filers who own land, houses, flats, or business units.
