Lahore, April 12: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is moving forward with its digital invoicing system, and if you’re a retailer or business required to issue these digital documents, it’s time to take action.
The FBR has officially instructed all concerned parties to connect with their digital invoicing system through a set of four approved licensed integrators.
This is a significant step in the implementation of the Sales Tax regulations outlined in SRO 69(1)/2025, dated January 29, 2025.
Understanding the FBR’s Digital Invoice Integration
A recent sales tax circular, number 1 of 2025, issued by the FBR, provides clear guidance on the integration process.
For businesses mandated to issue digital invoices, the initial crucial step involves integrating their existing hardware and software with the FBR’s central computerized system.
This integration must be facilitated through one of the FBR’s officially licensed integrators.
Meet the Approved Licensed Integrators
The FBR has currently approved four entities to provide these crucial integration services:
- M/s Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL): Notably, PRAL will be offering its integration services free of cost.
- M/s Haball (Pvt) Ltd.
- M/S EY (Pvt) Ltd.
- M/s WebDNAworks (Pvt) Ltd.
Your Next Steps for Seamless Integration
The FBR is urging all registered individuals and businesses who are obligated to adopt digital invoicing to promptly visit the dedicated digital invoicing portal on the FBR’s IRIS website: www.iris.fbr.gov.pk.
Once on the portal, you are required to carefully select your preferred licensed integrator from the provided list and initiate the integration process directly with them.

A Call to Licensed Integrators: Be Prepared
The FBR has also addressed the licensed integrators, emphasizing the need for a highly responsive and efficient mechanism to handle the incoming integration applications from businesses.
These integrators are further advised to strictly adhere to the detailed instructions provided in the technical documentation for Application Programming Interface (API) integration, which has already been shared with them.

Dedicated Support for a Smooth Transition
To ensure a smooth and efficient integration drive for everyone involved, the FBR has nominated key support staff from PRAL.
A Senior Project Manager and a Technical Support Officer have been designated to assist both the registered businesses and the licensed integrators throughout this process.
Embracing the Digital Future of Invoicing
For retailers and mandated businesses, understanding and acting upon these instructions is paramount for compliance.
By choosing an approved licensed integrator and initiating the integration process without delay, businesses can ensure a smooth transition into the FBR’s digital invoicing system.
