Islamabad, Feb 17: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has expanded its Point of Sales (POS) system to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in a bid to enhance financial transparency and digitize transactions. In collaboration with the Central Board of Revenue (CBR) AJK, Pakistan Revenue Automation (Pvt) Ltd. (PRAL) has successfully launched the POS system at two major locations: Khaadi and KFC in Mirpur, AJK.
The inauguration ceremonies were attended by key government officials, business leaders, and PRAL representatives, marking a significant step toward economic modernization in the region. Among the notable attendees were Col (R) Waqar Noor, Senior Minister Azhar Sadiq, Minister for Development Mian Waheed, Minister for Law, and the Commissioner of Inland Revenue. Also present were the President of the Chamber of Commerce, PRAL’s General Manager SD Abid Naeem, Head of Commercials and PMO Farheen Azhar, Project Managers Shamsa Iqbal and Mehboob Ur Rehman, and Lead-POS Adeel Abbasi.

Officials at the event emphasized that the introduction of the POS system is more than just a technological enhancement; it represents a crucial step toward economic resilience and modernization. They highlighted PRAL’s role in digitizing financial services, ensuring that transactions are transparently recorded and accounted for, thus strengthening tax compliance and revenue collection.
The launch of the POS system in AJK aligns with the government’s broader efforts to expand digital financial solutions across Pakistan, promoting tax documentation and reducing the informal economy. The event concluded with a networking lunch, where stakeholders engaged in discussions on future initiatives to accelerate AJK’s digital transformation.
PRAL reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the government through revenue automation, stating that the launch of the POS system in AJK marks a key milestone in enhancing financial transparency and streamlining tax collection mechanisms in the region.
