Islamabad, Apr 10, 2025: The number of businesses and companies registered with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has exceeded 12.5 million, according to the latest data presented in the National Assembly.

This marks a remarkable increase of 5.3 million registered business taxpayers in just three years, highlighting a substantial rise in formal tax system participation.

Punjab holds the largest share with 8.2 million businesses, followed by Sindh with 2.876 million.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 818,000 registered entities, while Islamabad and Balochistan account for 467,000 and 221,000, respectively.

These statistics reflect a growing trend of businesses formalizing their operations, aligning with the government’s initiatives to expand the tax base through reforms and digital registration processes.
