Islamabad, Sep 21: Speaking on behalf of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Bakhtiar Muhammad advised residents to file their income tax returns well in advance of the September 30 deadline and stressed that no extensions will be given. This will help residents avoid making a last-minute rush.
In an interview with a private news channel, Bakhtiar Muhammad advised citizens to file their taxes on time in order to strengthen the economy of Pakistan.The government hopes to encourage tax compliance by doing this, as it is essential to the stability and expansion of the economy of the nation.
In response to a question, he stated that FBR is dedicated to using contemporary methods to increase the functionality of our tax system. He went on to say that this involves improving audit and verification procedures, modernizing tax infrastructure, and using data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) to detect and prevent tax evasion.
According to him, the FBR is helping taxpayers by streamlining tax laws and processes.
He added that the FBR is focused on developing a motivated, satisfied, committed, and professional workforce through training and development programs, fostering a culture of professionalism and integrity, and encouraging employee motivation and job satisfaction. The Iris portal, an easy-to-use tax filing system, is a key initiative in this effort.
