The government has formally approved the relocation of the Federal Constabulary headquarters from Peshawar to Islamabad, marking a significant step months after the paramilitary force was officially rebranded.
This move aims to strengthen operational efficiency and modernize the force in line with national security priorities.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed officials to identify suitable land in the capital for the new FC HQs and requested a detailed master plan covering both administrative offices and training facilities.
A statement released after a meeting with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) highlighted the importance of accommodating the headquarters’ operational and training requirements.
“The Federal Constabulary will be upgraded with state-of-the-art infrastructure to enhance its effectiveness and readiness,” Minister Naqvi noted. Officials are tasked with ensuring that the new headquarters meets contemporary standards for both administration and field training.
Following President Zardari’s July ordinance that formally renamed the force, the Federal Constabulary now operates under a modernized structure, with divisions across the country including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and other key regions.
The relocation of FC HQs to Islamabad will also include dedicated wings for command, training, and specialized operations, further strengthening the central oversight of the force.
With this strategic move, the FC HQs relocation Islamabad is expected to streamline command structures, improve coordination with federal agencies, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
