Islamabad, 28 May 2025: Crackdown on Human Trafficking has intensified across Pakistan as the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) carries out sweeping operations against human smuggling networks, counterfeit documentation, and unlawful financial transfers.

Arrests at Airports and Border Crossings

In the ongoing crackdown on human trafficking, FIA teams intercepted several individuals attempting to flee the country using fake documents.

At Karachi Airport, three suspects Khalid Baloch, Muhammad Arif, and Amin were apprehended while trying to board international flights.

Authorities revealed that Khalid and Arif, originally Iranian nationals, had obtained Pakistani passports and counterfeit Qatari visas through illegal means.

Meanwhile, Amin, an Afghan citizen, was caught using a forged passport and travel certificate in an attempt to reach Saudi Arabia.

Fraud and Hawala Network Dismantled

In Multan, the FIA arrested Ahmad Nazir on accusations of defrauding a local man of Rs. 850,000 under the guise of arranging employment in Dubai.

Another operation in Bosan Road led to the capture of Kamran Akram, suspected of running an underground hawala network. Seized evidence included 13 passports, electronic devices, and substantial cash.

Financial Exploitation Cases Uncovered

Crackdown on Human Trafficking operations continued in Gujranwala, where Muhammad Imran Butt and Wajid Ali Shah were arrested with Rs. 1.9 million and documents linked to unauthorized money transfers.

In a separate raid, four individuals were detained for extracting millions of rupees from victims under the false promise of overseas jobs.

These included destinations like Spain, Dubai, Bahrain, and Italy, with reports of victims later subjected to exploitation or abandonment.

Public Advisory and Ongoing Investigations

FIA officials have urged citizens to avoid unregistered agents and ensure they follow legal channels for foreign employment. Investigations are ongoing to trace additional suspects connected to the widening network.

This crackdown on human trafficking highlights the government’s renewed resolve to protect citizens from exploitation and dismantle the illicit migration and financial syndicates operating in the shadows.
