Islamabad, Dec 4: Today in the Finance Division, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Federal Minister for Finance, met with a delegation from METRO AG Germany. Alfred Graannas, the Federal Republic of Germany’s ambassador to Pakistan, accompanied the trip, which was led by Atila Yenisen, Executive Vice President METRO AG Germany.
Aurangzeb informed them of the current macroeconomic reforms and their beneficial effects on the economy’s stability and future growth during the meeting. The minister also emphasized how the overall business and economic activity has improved due to the notable decline in inflation and the falling interest rate.
In addition, he said, the nation’s foreign exchange reserves have increased from two weeks’ worth of import cover to two and a half months’ worth, opening the door for a stable exchange rate and enabling the return of dividends and profits to overseas investors.
Yenisen previously gave the minister a synopsis of their company and investments in Pakistan. According to him, METRO AG Germany currently has ten stores across five cities in Pakistan, providing services to about 10,000 affiliated customers and employing over 2000 local employees.
According to him, his group has grown its operations in Pakistan over the years and helped with economic documents. Increased Pakistan’s exports by bringing in more than €10 million worth of domestic textiles and other goods each year for their international clients.
