A fire broke out in the Chak Shahzad plaza on Friday at around the afternoon time attracting pluming black smoke up in to air. It is suspected that an electrical short caused the blaze to break out in the storage provision of the complex.
Initial reports indicated that the building had a few containers filled with trash, and that was what made the fire worse. The firefighters and rescue teams reached the place in no time to control the situation and maintain safety at the place. Because of the fire, a lot of smoke was released, forcing the surrounding office workers and residents to vacate.
Police are pursuing the accident to gather information on exactly what caused it and the extent of the damage. Rescuing sources also indicated that the fire is still being managed by emergency response groups that strive to ensure that it does not arise to other buildings within the business sector.

Local administration authorities advised people to avoid going to the area, till the situation is totally under control. They equally emphasised the quality of waste management and electrical inspection to avoid those accidents in business buildings.
The fire at Chak Shahzad plaza also points out the risks involved in inappropriate storage of garbage and the outmoded electrical system and the government should inspect safety at other business centres like this.
