Islamabad, June 30, 2025: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a major amnesty initiative for citizens who obtained their CNICs with false information. Individuals are now encouraged to voluntarily disclose incorrect data — whether intentional or not — and correct it without facing legal consequences.

According to NADRA’s official statement, those who come forward will be legally protected under this limited-time initiative. The move is aimed at promoting transparency in national identity records and helping citizens fix identity-related issues without fear of punishment.

NADRA also warned that anyone who fails to report and rectify false CNIC data may face strict legal action. Accurate identity information is essential for national security and the smooth delivery of public services.

To support this drive, NADRA is urging people to visit NADRA registration centers to correct any errors in their personal records. The initiative aligns with NADRA’s ongoing efforts to ensure data accuracy across the board.

Additionally, NADRA has cut CNIC delivery times by half. The standard processing time has been reduced from 30 days to just 15 days. Major upgrades have also been introduced to the family registration certificate system to improve efficiency and reduce delays.
