Islamabad, July 23: Flash Flood have killed 234 people while 596 sustained injuries across Pakistan since June 26 says National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

According to NDMA sources Flash Floods and torrential monsoon rains have resulted damaging 826 homes, killing 203 livestock and created a serious humanitarian situation in low lying areas.

The NDMA has launched 62 rescue operations, saving 450 individuals, while relief efforts remain underway in collaboration with provincial and local administrations.

The NDMA has also set up 27 relief and medical camps and distributed 3,349 essential relief items including tents, blankets, food packs, and emergency equipment.

Fatalities by Region and Demographic Breakdown

Out of the 234 confirmed deaths, 79 were men, 42 women, and a staggering 113 children.
A province-wise breakdown reveals the following:

  • Punjab: Highest toll with 135 deaths (48 men, 24 women, 63 children)
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 56 deaths (16 men, 10 women, 30 children)
  • Sindh: 24 deaths (9 men, 4 women, 11 children)
  • Balochistan: 16 deaths (5 men, 4 women, 7 children)
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK): 2 deaths (1 man, 1 child)
  • Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT): 1 child fatality
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: No fatalities reported so far

Injuries by Region

The NDMA recorded 596 injuries nationwide, comprising 231 men, 144 women, and 137 children.
Breakdown by region includes:

  • Punjab: 470 injured (189 men, 144 women, 137 children)
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 71 injured (30 men, 13 women, 28 children)
  • Sindh: 40 injured (7 men, 6 women, 27 children)
  • Balochistan: 4 injured (2 men, 1 woman, 1 child)
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 3 injured (1 woman, 2 children)
  • AJK: 8 injured (3 men, 2 women, 3 children)

Relief Supplies and Equipment Delivered

To assist affected communities, NDMA has distributed:

  • 349 tents, 358 blankets, 266 quilts/sleeping bags, 76 mattresses
  • 554 kitchen sets, 305 mosquito nets, 500 sandbags, 153 food packs
  • 41 plastic mats, 25 hygiene kits, 35 jerry cans, 88 tarpaulins
  • 95 dewatering pumps, 10 gabions, 200 charpais, 201 stoves or gas cylinders
  • 30 life jackets, and 3 rescue boats

NDMA has reaffirmed its commitment to continue relief and rescue activities, as the country braces for further rain spells in the coming days.
