Islamabad, Aug 29: Due to inclement weather, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had to cancel and postpone a number of flights, which had a significant impact on its nationwide flight schedule.
35 flights have been delayed and 8 flights from Islamabad to Karachi have been canceled.
Flights PK-301 and PK-368 from Karachi to Islamabad and PK-455 and PK-456 from Karachi to Skardu are among the canceled flights. Four flights, PK-601, 602, 605, and 606, between Islamabad and Gilgit have also been canceled.
A number of international flights, including those from Karachi to Dubai, Damascus, Muscat, Madinah, Jeddah, and Baghdad, have experienced one and a half to two and a half hour delays.
PK 302 to Lahore will now depart at 11 a.m., three hours behind schedule, while PK 301, the PIA aircraft from Islamabad, was delayed by one and a half hours.
PK 304 and PK 305, the flights from Lahore to Karachi, have been delayed by 1.5 hours, and PK 335, the aircraft from Lahore to Dubai, will depart one hour later than scheduled.
Lahore-Muscat flight PK 229 has also been rescheduled to depart at 2:00 p.m. after a four-hour delay, and Lahore-Bahrain flight PK 189 will now depart at 11:30 p.m., five hours later than originally planned.
Additional flights that are delayed are those from Lahore to Dubai PA 216 and Riyadh PA 274; they both depart two and a half hours later than scheduled, and Lahore to Skardu PA 251 and Jeddah ER 801.
There will also be a 1.5-hour delay for upcoming flights from Lahore to Sharjah, Dubai, Kuwait City, Jeddah, and Muscat.
There is a two-and-a-half-hour delay for flights from Islamabad to Muscat and a three-hour
delay for aircraft PK 894 from Islamabad to Kuala Lumpur.
Additionally, flight PK 245 from Dammam is running two hours late. Two and a half hours later than planned, PK 243, PIA’s Sialkot-Dammam flight, will now take off at 12:30 p.m.
In addition, the weather has caused a two-and-a-half-hour delay in SV 795, a foreign airline flight from Multan to Jeddah.
