Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said that out of the 4,349 telecom sites affected nationwide by rains and floods, 4,137 have been restored while 212 remain out of service, with restoration work still in progress.

According to a report by DawnNews, all 212 affected sites are located in Punjab, where teams are actively working to restore services.

According to PTA officials, excessive water has caused power outages and supply issues at sites, resulting in delays in restoration. PTA and telecom companies are in close coordination with teams to ensure the recovery of affected sites.

The sources added that no effort will be spared to ensure uninterrupted mobile and internet services in the flood-hit areas, and all affected sites will be made operational soon.

It is worth mentioning that in a statement issued on August 16, PTA had announced that it was closely monitoring the telecom situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other flood-affected areas of the country.

The recent floods had disrupted multiple mobile and fixed-line sites, causing service interruptions.
