Islamabad, July 18, 2025: Kaio Jorge kept up his great scoring run in Fluminense vs Cruzeiro as Cruzeiro moved to the top of Brazil’s Serie A on Thursday with a 2-0 victory away against Fluminense.
Fabricio Bruno put the away side in front at the Maracana Stadium by nodding in a cross from Matheus Pereira around the 30th minute.
Pereira helped again just five minutes later, sliding a neat pass to Kaio, who tapped it in from close range.
Former Juventus forward Kaio has now netted 12 goals in 13 league games this season.
“It’s very difficult to play Fluminense here at the Maracana but our team is also very strong and we came with a solid game plan,” said the 23-year-old to reporters.

“I’m very happy with the goal but the win was the most important thing. We have great team spirit and that is showing in our performances.”
Cruzeiro now has 30 points from 14 matches, three ahead of Flamengo in second place, who still have one match to play. Fluminense sits in seventh in the 20-team table, 10 points behind.
