A court in Faisalabad has sentenced a man to 16 months of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 10 lakh for involvement in spice adulteration and forgery.

According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Food Authority, the accused was found guilty in a case registered at Gulberg Police Station. During inspection, officials seized 400 kilograms of unsafe red chili powder prepared for supply.

The case was heard by the Senior Civil Judge (Criminal Division), who announced the verdict on Tuesday.

The Food Authority stated that strict action will continue against those involved in food adulteration and the sale of harmful products.
