In a tragic case of food poisoning in Gujranwala, the 14-year-old daughter of international kabaddi player also passed away, bringing the total number of victims in the incident to four.
According to the police, the girl had been undergoing treatment at the Children’s Hospital for two days, where she could not be saved. Earlier, the player’s three other children also passed away.
The incident occurred on June 29, when the player’s wife and six children had eaten local fast food during a birthday celebration.
After the meal, all of them fell seriously ill and were immediately admitted to the hospital. The police stated that food poisoning is being considered the initial cause.

Following the incident, a case has been registered against the concerned vendors under murder charges. However, the Punjab Food Authority has yet to release the final analytical report identifying which harmful substance was present in the food.
